Citrus Expands VoIP Services for Residential and Business Markets

Citrus Telecom has expanded its range of VoIP services for its residential and business markets by using DIGITALK.

Citrus deployed the DIGITALK Broadband Telephony and Web calling Card in 2005 and is now introducing IP Virtual Office and Service Numbers to the range of services on the DIGITALK Multiservice Platform.

Citrus company officials believe that the two new additions will enhance Citrus’s offering to its business subscribers who will now be able to offer virtual office features and intelligent inbound routing to customers and resellers in over 60 countries.

According to Chris Spicer, co-founder and technical director of Citrus Telecom, by migrating to a fully IP DIGITALK infrastructure they are able to make significant improvements to their operations the benefits of which will in turn be passed onto their customers. He said that by running multiple services on the same DIGITALK platform they will also ensure continuity of service and improved management.

Thanks to DIGITALK, Citrus is able to offer SMEs a simple, cost-effective and professional business communications service using DIGITALK IP Virtual Office. In addition to boasting multiple calling features and network and services management software, this unique solution includes full billing, rating and web self-care functionality.

DIGITALK Service Numbers also help Citrus to offer number translation and inbound call management solutions to a broad range of business scenarios. These includes sales and support centres, free phone services and premium rate number services all managed via a web-self care interface.

Citrus also intends to migrate all TDM services over to IP-based DIGITALK Media Application Server infrastructure, which the company claims can reduce management and maintenance costs by up to seventy five percent.

Sales and Marketing Director of DIGITALK Mark Ashdown said that Citrus were early to see the benefits of Next Generation services and have been taking advantage of the significant cost benefits in their operations to expand and diversify their product range.

“Citrus is a prime example of the advantages of the multiservice concept that suits so many operators looking to diversify and grow revenues from value-added services quickly,” he added.
